Why Cheetahs Don’t Swim…

Cheetahs can swim and will, if they have to, but it isn’t something they will ever choose to do or ever do well – no matter how hard they try, no matter how good the training, no matter how big the bonus.

Now, ask them to run, well, that’s a whole different story.

Each person has specific talents which they do with the grace of a running cheetah. These talents are as natural to them as breathing. But unless they are identified, and then supported with knowledge and skill, they will not become strengths. Without these strengths being realized, your team can never reach its full potential.

Most of us have little sense of our talents and strengths, much less the ability to build our lives around them. We’ve become experts on our weaknesses and spend our lives trying to repair these flaws while our strengths lie dormant and neglected. But just as a Cheetah will never be a good swimmer – focusing on our weaknesses will never give us the payoff that we can get from turning the same attention to our natural talents and turning them into strengths. This a fun, interactive and life changing workshop. Perfect as a training, offsite, or career development piece. Workshop #1 focuses on understanding team member’s strengths and how these strengths apply to their current job and future career. Check out the University of Texas MBA Students experiencing the Now Discover Your Strengths Website on our Facebook Page.

birkman_logoGroup Birkman – Wonderful for groups who have a limited amount of time and want a taste of what using the Birkman will provide to them. In this workshop we provide each individual with their Birkman results in a group setting.

It can be a relatively quick and effectively to introduce everyone on your team to the Birkman and how the information can be used to better understand both themselves and those on their teams, including, and sometimes most importantly, their leaders.

Individuals would do the online Birkman assessment prior to the session and will be provided with a simplified version of their individual report via email prior to the session.

Key sections of the assessment results are explained in detail so that individuals can understand their own scores. Each participant will also get a personalized 45 page report from the Birkman on Demand (BOD)Database which is filled with easy to understand statements that will help them on topics such as “Biggest Mistakes to Make with This Person” “How Best to Motivate this Person.”

This group session can also be followed up with individual consultations for those participants desiring the full Advanced Birkman.

The Birkman Method® consists of a 298-question personality assessment and a series of related report sets that facilitate team building, executive coaching leadership

development, career counseling and interpersonal conflict resolution. The Birkman Method® combines motivational, behavioral and interest evaluation into one single assessment, which provides a multi-dimensional and comprehensive analysis, thus reducing the need for multiple assessments.

birkman_logoThe Team Birkman is by far our most advanced Birkman Workshop. This workshop requires that each team member receives their own, one on one feedback session with a Certified Birkman Consultant before the workshop. In the Workshop they will be challenged to understand not only their results, but also the results of each of the other team members, with special attention to the team leaders.

The focus is on strengths, needs, team dynamics and differences to watch. “Go to” people within the team are highlighted, broken links analyzed, blind spots are taken up, support issues discussed.
